Our product goes through a process called PVD, which gives them the durability and shine. PVD plating, or Physical Vapor Deposition, is a process used to create thin, durable coatings on various surfaces. Here's a quick overview:
How it Works: In PVD, a solid material (like metal) is vaporized in a vacuum environment and then deposited as a thin film onto a substrate. This process can be done using methods like sputtering or thermal evaporation.
Our jewellery is designed and crafted to be worn for everyday use, however jewellery can experience discoloration over time due to multiple factors including exposure to moisture, chemicals and air. Metals like silver and gold are delicate, and despite our best efforts, they can still fade due to a process called oxidation.
This care guide will help you maintain your jewellery to ensure its longevity.
Plating rubbing off naturally occurs with general wear and tear, and is not considered a manufacturing fault. To maintain the quality and appearance of your jewellery:
Avoid direct contact with perfumes, lotions, and harsh chemicals. While our jewellery is water-resistant, taking them off while taking a bath, swimming or exercising will increase the longevity of the jewellery.
Avoid abrasives- Avoid using harsh chemicals, toothbrushes, or scrubbing pads as they can damage the plating.
Handle Gently: Always put on jewellery after dressing to reduce the risk of snagging or damage.
Clean Regularly: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently polish the surface.
Make sure to take off your jewellery before going to bed, as sleeping with jewellery on can cause it to bend, scratch, or break due to pressure or movement during the night.
